consulted and appeared in two film projects, "Magnificent Diving Machines" (Nature) and "Real Science" (PBS). John has recently began incorporating sketching and journaling into his nature awareness and scientific observation activities, as a way of teaching students how to truly "see" the natural world. John's favorite pastimes are nature photography, water sports, hiking, and cooking. He also owns 8 snakes, a box turtle, a spiny tailed agama (uromastyx) from the Sahara Desert, a bearded dragon, and a cherry-head red-foot tortoise from South America. |
